Wilderness by B.E. Jones #Wilderness @bevjoneswriting @TheCrimeVault @damppebbles #damppebblesblogtours #BookReview #Gifted

So, I loved it.

I thought Wilderness by B. E. Jones was a great read.

It was a character driven, slow burn story with an unreliable narrator, it drew me in from page one. I finished the whole thing in just under two days. I read Wilderness in every spare moment I had, and it kept me up late at night. Is there any better sign than a book that keeps you awake and reading at night time?

And it had a fantastic setting, I would love to visit not only New York but Yosemite Valley, Grand canyon, Mariposa Grove and places like Death Valley. I loved the descriptions.

In fact, I loved B. E. Jones writing style.

The novel starts off slowly but then the twists and turns and character revelations keep on coming. I wouldn’t want to be Olivia’s friend but as a character she was a lot of fun to read. I spent the whole novel not trusting anyone. It kept me guessing.

And that ending! Great.

I really don’t have a negative thing to say about the book.

When I finished reading Wilderness, I almost immediately went and bought another of B. E. Jones books and added a couple of others to my wish list. I think I’ve found a new favourite author and I can’t wait to get stuck into some of her other novels.

It is a book with layers. A book with complex characters and a plot that kept me guessing. Read it. I’m sure you won’t regret it.  I certainly haven’t.

Also I really like the moody cloudy covers that I seem to be seeing about the place lately. Is this a new trend? Is moody clouds now a thing? Or should I say Menacing clouds? Either/or I like it.

I received a copy of Wilderness by B.E. Jones from the publisher via Emma the blog tour organiser – Thank you.

Published by Constable in eBook on 4th April 2019.  Paperback to follow next year.

Book Blurb:

It’s easy to die out there. It’s easy to kill too.

Two weeks, 1,500 miles, three opportunities for her husband to save his own life.

It isn’t about his survival – it’s about hers.

Shattered by the discovery of her husband’s affair, Liv knows they need to leave the chaos of New York to try to save their marriage. Maybe the roadtrip that they’d always planned, exploring America’s national parks, just the two of them, would help heal the wounds.

But what Liv hasn’t told her husband is that she has set him three challenges. Three opportunities to prove he’s really sorry and worthy of her forgiveness.

If he fails? Well, it’s dangerous out there. There are so many ways to die in the wilderness. And if it’s easy to die, then it’s easy to kill too.

If their marriage can’t survive, he can’t either.

About B.E. Jones:

Beverley Jones was born in the Rhondda Valleys, South Wales, and started her ‘life of crime’ as a reporter on The Western Mail before moving into TV news with BBC Wales Today.

She covered all aspects of crime reporting before switching sides as a press officer for South Wales police, dealing with the media in criminal investigations, security operations and emergency planning.

Now a freelance writer she channels these experiences of ‘true crime,’ and the murkier side of human nature, into her dark, psychological thrillers set in and around South Wales.

Wilderness, her sixth crime novel follows the release of Halfway by Little Brown in 2018.

Bev’s previous releases, Where She Went, The Lies You Tell, Make Him Pay and Fear The Dark are also available from Little Brown as e books.
