I have enjoyed a small blogging break – I take them often and although I have been reading other blogs and commenting I haven’t written many of my own posts. I just need a break sometimes, don’t we all!?
I now have a LOAD of reviews to write and after my wee break I am back in the mood. We have a quiet weekend planned so I intend to sit attached to my laptop for most of this afternoon.
I currently have the latest Pet Sematary film on the in the background, have you seen it? It’s creepy so far! I’ve also never read that book by S.King – YET!
On READING –
After a pretty bad reading tally in Dec and Jan – I have finally found my reading MOJO!
And I have read fantastic book after fantastic book and I am caught up with most of my blog tour books – a first for me! I’m usually panic reading a few days before my post is due. But, I plan to be (sum-what) organised in 2020 – Famous last words?!? π π π
And in REAL life…
My gorgeous daughter had a birthday. She had a party. And I had a houseful of children, which was good fun but I am still finding glitter everywhere. Absolutely. Everywhere.
And a few days after that she scared the crap out of me when she was spinning about the living room and fell over and landed on her wrist. One trip to A&E later and she is fine but bandaged. Did you know that children’s bones can bend as well as fracture? I didn’t! Bones shouldn’t bend! It is bad. And sore. But she is home and being spoiled rotten.
Her biggest concern was she couldn’t play football for several weeks.

ALSO I was super impressed with the range of cast colours available and the nurse even had extra sparkles to add it it.
The NHS are AMAZING! #Grateful
Here on my blog:
Well, as I mentioned already February has been ALL about reading and very little blogging. I am working on that and I have a list of reviews to write and other blog posts to pull together and who knows I might even get something scheduled. Scheduled posts are the dream!
My one review in February was of the FANTASTIC book – The Foundling by Stacey Halls
I posted one Can’t wait Wed post featuring – The Mirror and the light by Hilary Mantel I Am SUPER excited about my copy arriving next week!
And my only other blog post was a FIRST IMPRESSIONS post of The First Time Laura Pailing Died by Alyson Rudd
Who knows I might even make 4 or 5 posts next month π
Links that I’ve enjoyed and recommend:
I have only a few links because I am TERRIBLE at remembering to do this! I have read so many amazing blog posts and book reviews over the last few weeks and I have only highlighted a few. A tiny, tiny few. I will try and be better next month as I LOVE sharing the #bookblog love.
- A great review of The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary by Joanne over at Portobello Book Blog
- The second book in the series by Karen M. McManus – One of us is next – a book that had Paper Fury hooked.
- A review of Truth Hurts by Rebecca Reid – A steamy psychological thriller that Gemma over at Gem’s Quiet Corner loved.
- A fantastic review of a book I LOVED too – The unlikely escape of Uriah Heep over at Nicki’s lovely blog – The secret library.
- A review of The Guest list from Book After Book – I loved it too.
I hope everyone has a LOVELY weekend!
Breaks are vital! I couldn’t blog or be on social media for a week, and I was happy to come back, fresh as a newborn!
I loved the book Pet Sematary, but they took too many liberties with the movie so meeeeh!
Yay for getting your mojo back!!!
Your poor daughter! I had no idea kids bones could bend! Yikes!!!! xx

Absolutely! Sometimes you just need to step back for a wee bit. I wasn’t convinced about the film but I’ve added the book to my wish list, I really like Stephen King so I am sure I will get round to it at some point.
And she’s fine, she has been enjoying showing the sparkly cast to everyone.

I haven’t seen the Pet Sematary film yet, the book is brilliant (and from what I have heard even better than the movie so you will probably love it!) I also really want to read The Foundling (and The Familiars!) So I am glad you enjoyed it!! Great wrap-up! It’s good to take breaks, hope your daughter’s arm/wrist gets better soon! Hope you have a brilliant March!! Happy Reading! ππ

The Foundling was a great read if you like historical fiction and I am trying to clear my current reads so I can get stuck into The Familiars.
And I didn’t love the film, but it has made me want to read the book more now – weird π π π
Thank you!

No, the actual bandage comes in a range of colours and they are just dipped in water then wrapped round the soft bandage and harden within about 2 minutes. And her cast was so light – nothing like the messy, uncomfortable and heavy cast I had as a child. So much better! And the glitter was just added as it was drying. She was all done in about 5 minutes.

Oh my god that is amazing!!! How times have changed. I remember my friend having one and having to help scratch an itch and it was clunky π

Welcome back. I haven’t blogged much myself either due to health reasons but I’m itching to get back to it.

I hope all is ok? Breaks are important for me, I always want to be a slightly more dedicated blogger but sometimes I just need to concentrate on other things and blogging takes a wee bit of a back seat.

Thank you, she is on the mend now and just frustrated that she can’t go back to all the sports she enjoys.

I wish when I broke my arm (many moons ago) they had had fabulous colours of casts like that! Glad she didn’t hurt herself too much x

I thought the same thing! And I remember my cast being very heavy and restrictive whereas nowadays they are much lighter. And glitter. Glitter brightens everything π

I love your daughter’s cast! My son gave me a scare last year before we went to Disney – managed to hurt his wrist walking into a lamppost! Kids eh?

I know! I am sure my neighbours are so sick of hearing me shout WALK! I can’t wait until the cast is off and I can stop fussing…or at least not fuss as much.
I’m jealous – we have yet to go to Disney!
