I am delighted to kick off the #BLOGTOUR for The Forever House by Tim Waggoner along with the wonderful Kelly over at From Belguim with book love.
You can find her fantastic review – HERE
For my stop I’m featuring the book in a First Impressions Post – one of my favourite type of posts to do!
The idea behind a first impressions post isn’t new – I do it every time I walk into a bookstore or browse eBooks online. I look at the cover, I read the blurb and then I glance at page 1.
Who doesn’t do this?
So let’s do it here…
I LOVE the blue and I think the whole image works well as a cover design for the monsters that await on the inside.
I would certainly walk across the bookshop (or at least I would when they open again) to pick up The Forever House.
In Rockridge, Ohio, a sinister family moves into a sleepy cul de sac. The Eldreds feed on the negative emotions of humans, creating nightmarish realms within their house to entrap their prey. Neighbors are lured into the Eldreds’ home and faced with challenges designed to heighten their darkest emotions so their inhuman captors can feed and feed well. If the humans are to have any hope of survival, they’ll have to learn to overcome their prejudices and resentments toward one another and work together. But which will prove more deadly in the end, the Eldreds . . . or each other?
Sounds great, right?
I definitely wanted to know more about the Eldreds? When Anne sent the email I jumped at the chance to read it, I love a good horror novel. But I want one that leaves me with goosebumps.
Their vehicle makes no noise as it slides along the streets of Rockridge, Ohio, at 3:32 a.m. on a Thursday.p. 1
The first page was good, the whole first chapter was great. And I thought the first line set the creepy tone. The Car – is definitely a character that I won’t forget – I’ve yet to decide if that is a good thing!
Are you excited for The Forever House?
I received a copy of The Forever House by Tim Waggoner from the publisher, arranged by the blog tour organiser – Thank you!
