I have been reading books by Kathy Reichs for years! Well over a decade – gosh, that makes me feel old. And I have been a fan of Temperance Brennan right from book one, Deja Dead.

And I can’t quite believe the series is now at book 19 and still going strong.

Temperance has been through a lot. A LOT. And she still shows dedication, determination and an ability to uncover the truth, which is why she is one of my all time favourite characters.

I am a couple of books out of sync with the series so far. I’ve read the first 10 in order and then I seem to have dipped in and out of the series for the more recent books. I still need to read books 16, 17 and 18 – although I believe they are all sat on my TBR pile. And as such it did take me a moment to get to grips with exactly who was who and what was going on. I’ve always thought that the Temperance Brennan novels can be read as a standalone, but you do get a richness and wealthy of subtleties that will be missed if you don’t read all the books in order – AND I do strongly suggest reading the whole series.

The writing is superb and I would expect no less from Kathy Reichs. She is an amazing writer and her books are always well paced, plotted and planned. She never fails to keep me entertained. And A Conspiracy of Bones was no different, I was hooked from page one.

As with all the books I REALLY enjoyed I am struggling to put together a more substantial review other than – I recommend you read the book because it was a great read.

Just an AFTERTHOUGHT – But I have yet to watch the TV series – BONES. I have been trying not to watch too much TV but with the UK in #lockdown it might be the best time to delve in. Have you watched it? Is it as good as the books?
