It feels like AGES since I last joined in with a Can’t Wait Wednesday post – although I always look out for them if I get the chance to blog hop. I love reading about all the up and coming book releases I have yet to discover. But, it was thanks to the wonderful book Twitterverse that I discovered this weeks choice! Thank you Twitter and thank you HQ Stories for tweeting about…
Truth be Told by Kia Abdullah
Last year, I read and LOVED Kia Abdullah’s debut book – Take it back. It was a great, difficult and utterly gripping read. So, I can’t wait for book number 2. And it sounds good.
If you are interested you can read my review of Take it Back – HERE

ARE YOU READY TO START THIS CONVERSATION?
Kamran Hadid feels invincible. He attends Hampton school, an elite all-boys boarding school in London, he comes from a wealthy family, and he has a place at Oxford next year. The world is at his feet. And then a night of revelry leads to a drunken encounter and he must ask himself a horrific question.
With the help of assault counsellor, Zara Kaleel, Kamran reports the incident in the hopes that will be the end of it. But it’s only the beginning…
Powerful, explosive and important, Truth Be Told is a contemporary courtroom drama that vividly captures today’s society. You will not stop thinking about it for a long time to come.
Great synopsis, right!?!?!
As for the cover design – I like it but I don’t love it. I do like the colour choice of the title against the black and the image does look threatening. It’s ok.
What do you think?

So will you be adding Truth be told to your TBR pile? Have you read Kia Abdullah’s first novel – Take it back?
Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss books that have yet to be released, the new and upcoming releases. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, originally hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine.
This is not an author I am familiar with. This book sounds interesting.

Her first book was a great read, quite dark and intense but the kind of book you just can’t put down! I am looking forward to her new one 🙂

I will be reading Take It Back on Netgalley in preparation for its American release (I think; it appears to be a different publisher for hardcover vs. paperback, and the release date is later, too.) Interesting that you mentioned the cover of that edition, because the cover of the edition I’m reading is completely different! It’s eye-catching, though.
I hope I have a chance to read this book, too. It sounds fascinating!
