#BlogTour: A Q and A with E.J Wood, the author of #Amalie #QuestionMarkPress #ZooloosBookTours

Welcome to my stop of the blog tour for Amalie by E.J. Wood – I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to ask her some questions about her writing. As a writer, I wanted to know some of the nitty gritty elements of her process – I love having a snoop around another writers space, techniques and inspirations! Don’t you!?!?!?

But first the book synopsis and rather striking cover…

Book Blurb:

THEY MURDERED FAMILIESTHE FUHRER CANNOT PROTECT THEM NOW

It’s not wise to murder the family of a budding assassin. Created by Auschwitz, her skill is honed by revenge.

A very different type of serial killer is loose in 1950s Europe. In Britain, a Brotherhood of powerful men takes notice and enhances the expertise and artistry of a killer.

DCI John Owen was born to serve. Recruited by MI6, he tracks an accomplished executioner whose love of luxury and the arts is second only to the love of watching an early death come to those who truly deserve it.

Join the chase. Then ask yourself…Can there ever be only one winner?

Great sounding blurb, right!?!?! Did anyone else watch Hunters on Amazon Prime? It definitely gave off some of those vibes to me… I still haven’t read the book yet but it’s on my TBR pile. If you’ve read it and watched the show, let me know if it does go down those sort of routes?

Today I would like to welcome E. J Wood to my humble little blog – WELCOME!

Q -Are you a planner/plotter or a pantster? And would you care to share any information about your planning stages – if you plan?

I like to start off with a plot, but rarely do I have the intricate details of the plot written out. I have a basic idea of where I would be going with a story but, definitely a pantser would be a more appropriate term to use. I’d love to write every day, however, at the moment that is not possible. I neither have a schedule, I just write when I can!

Q – Do you have a music playlist? Do you like background noise? Back in the pre-covid day – were you a café writer?

I can only write in either, peace and quiet or blaring music. At the moment, I’m listening to a Sia soundtrack.

I also love a wee bit of Sia – she’s fab, great choice.

Q -Where do you write? Do you have a desk or a comfy chair?

I’m currently in the process of purchasing my first home where a dedicated office will be set up which will be amazing, and I’ll definitely be sharing photographs of that as and when it happens. For now, I’m using my laptop at work.

Good luck with the house move! And a dedicated space sound AMAZING!

Q -Apart from typing ‘The End’ – what is your favourite thing about writing? Do you prefer to work on the messy first draft or do you enjoy having the words in front of you to edit?

They say typing “The End” is when a writer’s hard work begins. I’m sure I’m not in the minority when I say the editing is the hardest part. The best bit is this bit, talking to you about what’s to come.

I hope you manage to read a copy of Amalie. I’m always intrigued how other people perceive my stories. I’ve had some real shockers who readers picture as my characters. I wonder who you would choose to play Amalie or John if it was made into a film?

Great question – I love guessing who would play the roles of characters out of books I love! I wil keep you posted on my answers when I’ve read the book.

Thank you for getting in touch.

And a big thank you from me!

I loved reading all your answers! I hope you enjoy the rest of your blog tour and I will be sure to pick up my copy of Amalie soon.
