#WWWwednesday 30/06/21

It has been AGES since I last did one of these #WWW posts and they are some of my favourites to write and read! I will be stopping by as many blogs as I can later, but feel free to leave me any links to your posts below in the comments and I will make sure and have a wee looksee.

For me, June has been a month of reading for pleasure. I’ve barely touched any ARCS or review books, I’ve just read what I wanted, when I wanted too. And it’s been great – a much needed break. I think I need to schedule in more time for unscheduled reading, not that I don’t enjoy ARCs and blog tours but it’s quite freeing just picking up what you fancy πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€

Anyway… back to #WWWwednesday.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

For the first time in a long, long, LONG time I am currently only reading ONE book. It’s a weird feeling and no doubt I will sit down later and start another three of four books. I almost always have multiple books on the go at once, I’m a mood reader and I like to hop, hoppity, hop about.

I am in love with the Bridgerton books so far, I discovered them after the AMAZING Netflix TV series and I have plans to read ALL of them at some point (hopefully) this year. They are so easy to read and enjoy – they are SO entertaining. Have you read any of them?

WHAT BOOK(s) HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?

Four of the books above were 5 star reads, one book was a 4 star read and the last was a 3 star. Can you guess the 5 stars books? And out of all of those amazing 5 star books I can’t pick a favourite, they were all so different but ALL so good!

June in general has been a GOOD reading month for me – long may it continue.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT?

I’m planning on jumping into the next FEVER (and final) book in the series soon and the next OUTLANDER book before November – but I can’t quite decide what else…

Maybe something a bit light and summery, a nice RomCom. Any and all suggestions are always welcome.

What are you reading? Have you had a book lately that you couldn’t put down?

  1. Looks like some good reading there! I am sort of reading one at a time at the moment, too, which is odd for me. At the moment I’m almost finished with Anita Sethi’s β€œI Belong Here” which is about a woman of colour reclaiming her belonging in the British countryside, coming up next I’ve got Stephen Rutt’s β€œThe Eternal Season” (review book) and/or David Olusoga’s β€œBlack and British” (20 Books of Summer, which I’m running late on). Everything here is ARCs or 20 Books of Summer at the moment! Have a good July of reading!

    1. They all sound like interesting reads – I read a post recently about I belong here which really sparked my attention.

I didn’t join in the 20 books of summer this year but I have been enjoying keeping up with some of the posts – it’s such a fun readathon.

      Happy reading!

  2. If you are looking for summery romance, the Wildstone Series by Jill Shalvis is good. I just read #7, Love For Beginners and enjoyed it. This can be read as a standalone.

    1. Thank you – I LOVE a book recommendation and I’ve added a couple of the books in that series to my wish list. She’s an author that has been on my radar for a while, but this is the excuse I need to finally buy one πŸ™‚

  3. Project Hail Mary must have been one of your 5 star reads:). And as for enjoyable summery reads with a splash of romance – I recommend Lindsay Buroker’s Fallen Empire series. It’s a space opera adventure featuring a female captain searching for her daughter after a war, and while it might sound a bit grim, it’s nothing of the sort. Lots of humour and packed with all sorts of adventure and an unfolding love story that is rather quirky.

Thank you for the recommendation of the Bridgerton series – I sort of lost interest in the TV series halfway through, but I would probably far more enjoy the books:)).

    1. I have Star Nomad sat on my kindle! I am now determined to get to it soon πŸ™‚ Thank you for the recommendation.

And yes Project Hail Mary was AMAZING. I loved everything about it.

The books are good, definitely light and fluffy – but sometimes that is exactly the mood I am in.

      1. Oh, I do hope you can get to Star Nomad reasonably soon – I’d love to hear your thoughts on it:)). And like you, I LOVED Project Hail Mary – particularly that ending…

    1. I hope you are off somewhere lovely later this summer!?!? All our holiday plans this year are relatively local and in Scotland. But I have been craving a proper change of scenery.

  4. It seems everyone loved Bridgerton so I’m on the fence as to whether I watch it or wait until I can get to the books but with my long ARC list that could be ages and ages.
