Is it really Wednesday already! This last week seems to have disappeared in a COVID blur and today is the first day of a normal routine for our household. I have missed the school run. I won’t go quite as far to say I have missed the alarm clock, but I’m looking forward to a bit of normal.
Anyway…
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
The books I’m actively reading and or listening too are all good so far, which is a lovely bonus. Long may the good books of 2022 continue.
I am past the half way point with You people and it is good. It was part of my Rarebirds monthly book subscription – it might not have been a book I picked up for myself, however, it’s a good read, a bit bleak in places and I have no idea where the story is going…but enjoyable.
How To kill your family has one of the best cover designs…I was grasping for it before I even knew what it was about. And so far it is good, a little slow in places but the audible narration is fantastic. I’m looking forward to spending some more time with Grace and her murderous intentions.
And finally, The Hero of Ages is amazing. I still have 30% left to read and I already know the book is getting the full 5 STARS from me. I love the Mistborn series and I am going to miss Vin from my life when our journey together is over. Such a good series. If you like high fantasy then you should look at these books if you haven’t read them already.

WHAT BOOK(s) HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?
I recently finished The Herd by Emily Edwards and it was a great read. A 5 STAR read. I picked up the hardback when I was browsing in Asda and I was immediately drawn into the world and lives of Bry and Elizabeth. It was a story about mothers trying to do the best for their children. It was compelling, gripping and almost made me shed a tear, I definitely needed to take a wee breather at one point. It’s a book that starts a conversation…are you vaccinated? Would you vaccinate your children?

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT?
I usually struggle with the final question, but not this week as I have my gorgeous Waterstones exclusive sprayed edges artwork of a book – The Christie Affair by Nina De Gramont sat next to me waiting patiently to be read. I’ve already dipped into the first chapter so I know it’s good. I just want to clear a couple of books off my currently reading shelf before I properly dive in.

What are you reading? Have you had a book lately that you couldn’t put down?
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme that was revived by Sam over at the wonderful – Taking on a World of Words.
Love the sound of how to kill your family and the herd. Looking forward to hearing what you think of them.
I’m currently reading and loving This Bright Beauty by Emily Cavanagh. I’ve just finished Selkies are a girls best friend by Molly Harper (one of my all time favourite authors). And I’m looking forward to picking up Eight perfect hours by Lia Louis which I got in my January book subscription and it sounds really good. Happy reading! 📚🥰

Enjoy your book subscription!
I’m almost done with How to kill your family and it’s SO good – I couldn’t put it down yesterday and I only have the last 12% left.
Have a lovely Friday x

I’ve never been one to read a book just to finish it… if you’re not enjoying it start something else and I completely agree with you – you can’t love everything. Reading is so subjective. x
