Gone by Leona Deakin #Gone #RandomThingsTours #ProvidedForReview

This is our last full week of the holidays and I am behind, behind on blogging, behind on reading, behind on twitter and I think pretty much just behind with life/daily chores. But, I’ve had another lovely week spending as much time as possible with my small wee person. I can’t believe that summer is almost over and done with!

So apologies – I haven’t finished Gone. Yet.

So, I wanted to review the first 100 pages! And I can do that with one word – WOW!

So far Gone is my type of read. I love the writing, the characters are interesting and mostly well developed and I have no idea where the story is going. It’s good. And I love the cover design.

I believe this is going to be a series?? And I already know I will be reading the next one!

Have you read it? What did you think? Is the ending guessable?

Right I’m off to read… I will be back to update when I am done.

I was delighted to be invited to join the blog tour for Gone by Leona Deakin, thank you to the publisher and blog tour organiser (Anne) for providing my copy of the book.

Book Blurb:

Four strangers are missing. Left at their last-known locations are birthday cards that read:

YOUR GIFT IS THE GAME DARE TO PLAY?

The police aren’t worried – it’s just a game. But the families are frantic, and psychologist and private detective Dr Augusta Bloom is persuaded to investigate. As she delves into the lives of the missing people, she finds something that binds them all.

And that something makes them very dangerous indeed.

As more disappearances are reported and new birthday cards uncovered, Dr Bloom races to unravel the mystery and find the puppeteer. But is she playing into their hands?

An addictive debut thriller with an ingenious hook that turns the missing person plot on its head – what if the missing people are the dangerous ones?

About Leona Deakin:

Leona draws inspiration for her writing from her own experiences having started her career as a psychologist with the West Yorkshire Police and her successful work in psychology since. She is now an occupational psychologist and lives with her family in Leeds. This is her debut thriller.
